I would like to introduce MonoRoute my OSC router for Monome…

Firstly, this software is designed for use with Monome. So if you don’t have a Monome then it’s not going to be much use to you.

The intention of this software is for it to be a stable, efficient, non-bloated, OSC router for Monome. I basically wrote this because I was having trouble with latency through other applications that were available, so I decided to do it myself…

It’s features include:

• 48h/128 to 256 mapping (Quadrant style), with column/press translation.
• Auto Configuration support (With reference M4L patch)
• Multiple Monome Support
• External Application Switching (Midi Switching using supplied M4L patch)
• Standalone Application.
• Simple GUI that’s easy to use.
• Cross platform (OSX, Windows, Linux) operation (Java 1.5 compatible)
• The routing of an unlimited number of OSC applications (assuming unlimited CPU power ).
• Save/Load function.
• Selectable hot keys for changing pages.

Auto Configuration Information:

Auto Configuration is a way of making Monome applications easier for the end user, and to make working with multiple applications at once a reality. When an application that supports Auto Config is loaded it can discover where MonoRoute is and how to connect to it via Bonjour protocol. After the discovery process it can then forward information of it’s location to MonoRoute via OSC. The process looks something like this:

Below is the Auto Configuration M4L reference implementation (Supporting Auto Config and Full Manual configuration modes) that can be used within your Max applications (refer to tutorial video for assistance):
